Session 4A (11:30-12:25) · Room 217 · Add to calendar
Presented by Wendy Pettingill-Jones-School Psychology Specialist
A strong referral is the foundation of a meaningful evaluation process. This session will help educators understand what makes a referral clear, complete, and data-driven while exploring the difference between a comprehensive evaluation and other types of assessments. Participants will learn how evaluation components work together to identify student needs, guide eligibility decisions, and support effective specially designed instruction. Through real-world examples and practical strategies, educators will gain confidence in collecting relevant information, documenting concerns, and ensuring referrals lead to purposeful evaluations—not just more paperwork.
